Hello and Happy New Year as the case may be:
I am really excited to share that I've landed a repeat contract with an educational publisher. During the next several weeks, I will be a contributing writer/editor for a set of assessment workbooks.
These projects are a nice step forward in my career. I've made a few sacrifices to get to this point, and there will be a few more before the contract is satisfied. Unfortunately, I have not quite realized my goal of independence through self-employment. Such as it is :)
With this update, I'm writing to ask for work. If you know anyone who's looking for a freelance editor/proofreader, please pass my name along.
